barbara reyes is known to her family as “art director.” she has worked diligently for domino, glamour, barneys new york, martha stewart living,
w magazine,
estee lauder and redken. she was even more diligent when
she redesigned the look of radar, manhattan file magazine, espn and teen people and helped launch cargo magazine.
after a decade of working for the man, barbara decided it was time to be
“art director” of her own publication. she wanted stereotype to be the
anti-magazine—no cover
lines, no editor's letter, no front or back of book pages—just a well, filled with features about art, photography, illustration, design, fashion and music. she hopes the minimag
is a source of inspiration for readers as it is for herself.
she currently lives in a very nice but much-too expensive apartment in the west village with her pink uglydoll. when not working on her minimag, she likes to “art direct” her family's sunday dinners.
